Haunting Classifications & Ghost Classifications

For centuries, people have believed in and both feared and respected the idea that we share our world with ghosts and that there are haunted places in our world. Although science hasn’t been able to deal effectively with the physical aspects and explain these in relation to ghosts, other unexplained entities, and haunted physical places, there are a few strides science has made which help us try to pinpoint what is going on during paranormal or unexplained events. For instance, through science we can measure physical energies such as sound, magnet fields, heat, etc. Sometimes knowing levels of physical data that exist can help researchers rule out bad explanations – still, by these methods, we’re often left with just ‘no plausible explanation’ or explanations about what an event or thing is NOT, rather than what it is.
There are social and philosophical (including religions) sciences and principles which are used to study the paranormal, ghosts, hunting's and mythologies surrounding creatures and deities many believe inhabit our world alongside the human race. In many non-scientific disciplines, there is still a set of theories that exist, all packed up and utilized with scientific methodology and with these, some disciplines classify “haunting” into 7 broad category types

1.Residual Haunting - Echos of the past, non intelligent unaware of the living - non dangerous
    
2.Intelligent Haunting - Spirit that are aware of the living,interact with you or objects - mild to moderate or sometimes dangerous  

3.Demonic Haunting - Some thing that was never human what we refer to as a demon, These non human spirits are shape-shifters, they have been reported to disguise themselves as friendly and helpful human spirits in order to break the will of a person to possesse or do harm to other - very dangerous
4.Demonic Human Haunting - Something that was human in a preious life who died & the spirit has become to earth bound & lacks the light & has become a darker spirit,can possesse you in order to harm or use you to do harm - dangeous

5.Poltergeist Haunting - know as a trickest, can move heavy objects,break your will to possesse you or do harm to you, has 5 levels of a poltergeist haunting - very dangerous

6.Portal Haunting - portal haunting are door way between are world & the dead where the spirit can enter freely through to haunt your home or place - Can be dangerous at time to non dangerous

7. Natural Haunt  non haunting just emagineation running wild because of curtain things that happen that mite look like haunting.

1. Residual haunting, the most common form of haunting, paranormal activity occurs because some event of magnificence or importance, usually violent or containing highly emotional reaction, has happened in the past. This usually turns out to be a death of a resident or frequent visitor to the location in question and often it has been a very violent (or tragic, such as with suicide) death. Regularly, paranormal experts explain the event is in or on some sort of “loop” whereby the event or impressions of the event occur over and over again, only not quite in the same way or with as much solidity and physical hold as when they happened originally. This effect is similar to when we rewind and replay an audio or videotape - we can hear or view a recording over and over again but the data is still not the original music/filming - it's a copy.These looping events in a haunting usually occur in buildings, particularly in residential homes. Although many residual hauntings happen in very old homes, the same can happen in relatively new homes, as well. It is believed that often, the spirits are not aware of this looping effect or have no control over it – the loop of events just repeats over and over and over.

2.Intelligent hauntings are considered the second most common of types of haunting, however, it is commonly accepted that beings (entities, ghosts, etc) involved in these types are aware of their surroundings and also manipulate their surroundings at least minimally. These are the hauntings you hear about or experience whereby ghosts interact with objects and even with living people. People experiencing hauntings of the intelligent type often report noises when they aren’t causing any noise, objects moving, sounds of voices, sounds of footsteps, lights and other electrical items turning on or off by themselves, and strange situations with lights coming from no apparent source, batteries draining, etc. It is believed that in an intelligent haunting, the entity involved creates movement, noise, etc., to be noticed.

3.Demonic hauntings are almost always one of the more frightening and emotionally draining sort of paranormal experiences but are actually recorded as being one of the common of hauntings. It might be that many people are so afraid from an experience of this sort that they don't wish to report it at all. An entity or force may have threatened them in such a way that they don't wish to engage with it further in any manner. Nor do they intend to draw more attention to it or draw other people/forces near to it - as might happen if they make an official report or call in a paranormal team. These things must be kept in mind when trying to calculate the actual number of paranormal happenings that occur each year - versus - how many incidents are actually and fully reported.
Demonic hauntings centre on and weaken or alter a person’s emotions and mental state. It is felt that demonic entities weaken their victims in order to possess them and take over at least some of their faculties. These beings have physical strength and in many cases, do physically assault those they are trying to affect or possess. One may or may not be able to physically see the entity responsible for an assault but the attack can be very serious and real nonetheless. Repulsive smells and scary noises are also signs that a haunting is of demonic nature, rather than of another type of haunting.

4.poltergeist activity are also one of the most dreaded of all types of haunting. Most poltergeist hauntings are believed to be caused by an angry entity or spirit. This anger may have no determined course (other than “to vent” and terrorize) and poltergeists are considered to be quite chaotic. Often, poltergeist hauntings attach to one person, though they can be attached very firmly to a location, too. The activity may include moving objects, slamming doors and cupboards, breaking of glass or glasses, and a variety of unusual noises. These surges of activity may happen only when a particular person is nearby that the poltergeist has attached to, depending on whether the haunting is generalized or specific to a certain person.

level 1 - Referred to as Senses Attack because in the early stages of a poltergeist the activity mainly revolves around the human body's basic six.
Cold spots - Strange noises - Odd odors and smells - Hearing footsteps - Unusual animal activity (dogs/cats running from rooms, etc) - Feelings of being watched

level 2 - This level is where the noises and smells begin to turn into something more direct. Everything is still at its basic level but turned up a few notches.
Whispers - Laughs or giggles - Moans or shrieking - Moving shadows - Breezes in closed areas - Visible clouds (base apparitions) - Strong static electricity. Marks on floors or walls, (Not Writings).

level 3 - At this stage the poltergeist begins to make it's presence felt. The difference is that in the first two levels it could be said that it was the mind playing tricks, but now, it's hard not to notice something real is happening. This is the level that the classic haunting falls into.
Lights and other electrical appliances turning ON/OFF - Unseen hands grabbing or touching people - Writings on walls or pattern markings - Doors that OPEN/CLOSE or LOCK/UNLOCK - Hearing voices or words clearly - Full apparitions or dark figures - Showing levels of communication with living people - Strange telephone calls.

level 4 - This is where an advanced poltergeist begins to gain momentum. Moving closer to the danger level and picking up a clearer consciousness. It may seem that it's only a harmless ghost being playful. However, if it is a poltergeist, it may be gathering knowledge of what the people around it consider frightening. At the next level it will use the information gained here in a violent manner to create an atmosphere of absolute terror. Which it then will use to feed off of and build its own energy.
Flying objects - Moving objects - Objects disappearing and reappearing elsewhere - shaking furniture - Fire starting - Appearing as frightening entities - Pushing or shaking people - creating visions or illusions - speaking in ordering tones - People feel dizzy, nausea or sick to stomach. Windows, mirrors or other household objects breaking for no reason - Levitation.

level 5 - At this level the poltergeist is at its highest energy point and should be considered dangerous. Violent and/or threatening actions begin at this stage. The time frame here, and all stages listed, will vary determining on the poltergeist. It could end in days, months or years. After this stage the poltergeist will go dormant and then begin this cycle over again starting.
Dangerous activity - Biting - Slapping or punching - rape - Animating objects - Possessions - Use of household electrical systems to cause harm - Fires and burning - Blood on walls, floors, ceilings - Attacked by unseen forces - held down - Hair pulled - Flying knives or sharp objects - Heavy objects falling - Threatening writings or visual signs.

Portal haunting is generally considered a newer classification of haunting. Though many paranormal experts may believe in the other forms of haunting, not all believe in portal hauntings. Those that do believe these are a valid and specific form of haunting think these are from an entity moving about between dimensions or worlds via a door or portal opening someplace where dimensions or worlds meet. With portal hauntings there may be orbs, mists, lights, shadows and even creatures involved. Often, when the details of a haunting don’t fit closely with the features usually found in other classifications, the haunting is said to be a portal haunting.
Personally, I object to this stuffing of an unexplained haunting into a category that seems convenient when classification becomes difficult, but this is just my amateur opinion. It seems valid to me that we will learn to classify happenings better in the future or have to construct an additonal category for other unexplained events.

Natural Haunt A natural haunt is initially unexplained phenomenon that occurs and that upon investigation is found to be caused by natural occurrences. For example, lights flickering that are caused by loose connection or faulty wiring, noises that are found to be caused by pipes, animals, tree limbs, etc., apparitions that are found to be caused by mirrors, lighting, and reflections, etc. It’s the easiest to determine and explain to the client, but most times leaves the client feeling foolish. In these cases it helps to be understanding with the clients feelings and reassuring that they do not need to feel foolish. Natural Haunts happen to everyone at some point.

orbs
Orbs are believed (by many) to be ghosts in the form of balls of light. They are life forms that travel in groups and are believed to be the human soul or life force of those that once inhabited a physical body here on earth. Psychics claim to talk to them on a regular basis, and ghost hunters encounter them quite frequently. It is said that they are those spirits that have willingly stayed behind because they feel bound to their previous life or previous location for whatever reason. Because of this obsession they tend to become similar to a psychotic human beings. It should be said that the majority of us when we die proceed gladly and willingly to the next level of existence after saying our quiet good-byes, which means we're off to the spirit world. Then again, as stated, a select few elect to stay behind because of a refusal to move on. Apparently the longer they stay behind, the harder it is to find their way to the next level, which again, is the spirit world.To me i cant class orbs as a haunting because there to easly mistake as being dust or water droplets in the air.

Ghost Lights
Ghost lights are glowing lights frequently seen at haunting sites. The lights have been sited on every continent other than Antarctica and come in almost every color imaginable. The can be stationary, move slowly. or dart around erratically. They have been know by various names including spook lights, corpse candles, jack-o-lanterns, will-o’-the-wisp and many more.
Folklore attributes the phenomenon to fairies, ghost or other elemental spirits. There are various legends to explain the lights. Ignis Fatuus as they were called in medieval times literally means ‘foolish Fire’. These were thought to be mischievous spirits playing tricks on travelers tempting them to ‘foolishly’ follow them off the path and get lost.
Most legends typically explain the lights as the ghost of souls who cannot rest. The typical reasons given for the unrest is some grievous sin like suicide or murder. Another reason for the unrest is because some wrong done to the deceased remains uncorrected.
In Sweden the lights are unbaptized souls trying to lead travelers to water. It is believed the ghost wishes to be baptized and thus released from this world. This particular lore explains why the lights are commonly seen in marshes and around bodies of water.

3.Visable - these are visable to the naked eye.usaully transparent in nature.

4.Soild - appear very soild,witness commonly mistake them for real people,until they disappearbefore there eyes.

Vortex spirits
A tornado-like mass of air, water, or energy that spins around very fast, creating a vacuum to pull objects into its empty center. It can varies in size and length when moving. They are readily confused with a speeding orb when they slow down and take on this straight & narrow look.
As other apparitions, there are no real consensus about the nature of the vortex. Some claim it is a former resident of the home or a a visiting relative. Other believe it serves as a vehicle to transport spirits in the shape of orbs from their realm to ours. In supernatural studies, a vortex is an energy mass that is a temporary opening to the other side, this can be the result of spirit energy in motion.

Shadow spirits
Shadow ghosts appear as a shadow of sorts. They look a bit like Ecto-mist but are dark gray to black in color. There are actually three separate types and we list them all in classes below. In photographs, it's easy to confuse them with natural shadows, so be careful with your analysis. They are usually extremely sneaky and evasive. When they are spotted it's usually out of the corner of your eye or as they are darting through a wall. They can also be spotted as a reflection in shinny objects and mirrors. As for photography, They are one of the rarest ghost types to be captured on film. Birds and cats are especially sensitive to them.

Type A - Appear as a small dark misty cloud and are almost always under two feet in length, but can hover or float up to 8 feet high.

Type B -Appear as a huge glob of thick cloudy mass. They typically range from 2 to 8 feet in height.

Type C -

Appear in human form and some may be seen wearing a hat. They typically appear up to 8 feet in height.

 

 

 

 

Ectoplasm is said to be formed by physical mediums when in a trance state. This material is excreted as a gauze-like substance from orifices on the medium's body and spiritual entities are said to drape this substance over their nonphysical body, enabling them to interact in the physical and real universe. According to mediums, the ectoplasm can not occur in light conditions as the ectoplasmic substance would disintegrate.

The psychical researcher Gustav Geley defined ectoplasm as being “very variable in appearance, being sometimes vaporous, sometimes a plastic paste, sometimes a bundle of fine threads, or a membrane with swellings or fringes, or a fine fabric-like tissue”. Arthur Conan Doyle described ectoplasm as “a viscous, gelatinous substance which appeared to differ from every known form of matter in that it could solidify and be used for material purposes”.

Although the term is widespread in popular culture, the physical existence of ectoplasm is not accepted by science. Some tested samples purported to be ectoplasm have been found to be various non-paranormal substances.Other researchers have duplicated, with non-supernatural materials, the photographic effects sometimes said to prove the existence of ectoplasm

 

Residual and Intelligent Hauntings Explained

Paranormal research has concluded that there are several different types of hauntings. Two of the most common types that one may experience include that of residual and intelligent hauntings. Whether you are a professional in the field of ghost hunting, or someone who is simply interested in the supernatural, it is important that you learn as much as you can regarding the various types that may be experienced. Here, I will review the residual haunting as well as those that are considered to be intelligent.

                 A Residual Haunting
The residual haunting is a rather interesting type of supernatural experience. To be completely honest, it really is not as much of a “haunting” of a spirit as it is a recording of specific energy. Many professionals in the paranormal describe this type of supernatural experience as a “recording of past energy”. It is believed, that in a location where a person released a large amount of energy, or heightened emotions were experienced, and the energy imbeds itself. As a result of the lingering energy, individuals in the future may get to experience seeing a type of “recording” of these events. The following describes some of the signs that a haunting is residual:

1. One of the first things that the witness to a residual haunting will notice is that the spirit does not seem to interact, or acknowledge that there is anyone present. The spirit will almost seem oblivious to anything that is occurring in its presence.

2. There have been cases in which the apparition will seem to come and go. However, even when the actual spirit is not present, it is common for noises to be heard by the living. These noises often sound as if the spirit is walking, or moving things around. Once again, this is simply the energy exhibiting itself.

The energy may also result in interruptions to electricity and electrical appliances. It is also quite possible for parts of the area to change. Examples include the opening and shutting of doors.                 Intelligent Hauntings
Intelligent hauntings are a completely different type of haunting from residual. Whereas a residual haunting is a type of energy that has no consciousness, the intelligent haunting does have consciousness. These spirits have been accounted to interact with the living all throughout history. There are many possibilities why an intelligent spirit may elect to stay on our physical plane. Below are some common explanations:

1. Many spirits that are considered to be intelligent simply may not realize that their life has ended and they are trying to continue living as if they would if they were still alive.

2. There are some who may elect to remain on the physical plane in an effort to ensure the safety of particular loved ones.

3. There may be a strong connection to a particular place, item, or person on the physical plane that results in the spirit remaining in our world.

4. Many of the spirits may feel as if it is their obligation to send a specific message to a loved one.

5. In some instances, it may simply be that the spirit is frightened to move on from life to death, and that they need time to get used to the idea that they are no longer living.

When it comes to intelligent hauntings, seeing that there is consciousness behind these beings, their personalities will be just as different as you and I have different personalities. There may be some really friendly intelligent hauntings, and then there may be intelligent hauntings that seem quite ominous. There are a number of signs that you may have an intelligent haunting. These signs include:

1. You may feel as if you are in a presence of something supernatural. This is often manifested by way of cold chills, goose bumps, and a general feeling of being uneasy.

2. You may actually see an apparition that is attempting to communicate with you. The communication may not be successful, but you will notice a clear attempt.

3. There may be complications with the electricity when an intelligent haunting is present. This is simply because of the energy of the spirit.

4. It is not uncommon for a haunting to move and hide objects. This includes items turning themselves on and off, losing your keys, and even doors locking by themselves. This is all an effort to communicate with the living.

5. Unusual sounds are often common with an intelligent haunting.

The demonic haunting is especially frightening to the individual that experiences it. There is absolutely no “good” when it comes to demonic spirits. Naturally, the spirit that haunts in this type of haunting will not be human. In many instances of haunting that fit into this category, it was noted that the paranormal events were relatively small. However, as time progressed, so did the hauntings and various types of paranormal and unexplained activity. Careful case studies of the demonic haunting have concluded that these types of spirits like to attack individuals that are experiencing weaknesses on a psychological and emotional level.

   Signs of Poltergeist and Demonic Hauntings

There are a number of signs of poltergeist and demonic hauntings. Listed below are some of the most common signs associated with these types of spirits:

1. Many will experience noises that cannot be explained. These noises may include knocks, banging, and similar types of noises.

2. Many may find that things are moved from the location that they originally put them.

3. Seeing objects, such as dishes, levitating and moving in and around the structure that is considered to be haunted.

8. If you smell something that is particular strange, or cannot identify it, you may have a poltergeist or demonic haunting.

9. If you have bruises and scratches on your body that you cannot explain, this may be a case of a haunting.

10. Visibly seeing an apparition definitely indicates a haunting.

Ghostly Figure at the End of the Hallway

The following photo is from a paranormal investigation conducted by Paul Dale Roberts of HPI Paranormal. A shadowy "figure" can be seen at the end of the hallway. It was taken at 7:20 P.M. with witnesses who can verify the fact that no one else was up there at that end of the building at the time. Nothing was visible to the naked eye, and the figure only made itself known after reviewing the photograph. In order to preserve confidentiality and privacy for the tenants, the building name and location were not revealed. The darker image is the original, and the lighter one has been lightened with photo editing software to see the figure more clearly. Could it be a ghost that walks the halls of this building after hours?

Asheville NC High School Ghost

Surveillance video taken early last Friday morning (08/01/08)at Asheville High School shows something strange. School officials aren't sure what it is, but some are saying it's some type of ghost or apparition, caught on tape.


Now people are saying they dont know what it is, but clearly there ignoring what this is maybe out of fear or no belelf but The fact the shadow figure comes out of the lift in a child form but then changes to a adult form is seriously spin chilling & scream's a demonic presence to me at this high school. Before This school was built there was an old mental hospital were the school is stood now, could it be the ghost of a young person from the hospital or could it be the ghost of some one that went to this school angry with someone there? iver way what you see in these videos is really creepy.

 

 

 

 

The Haunting of Fox Hollow Farm

The Graves family moved into Fox Hollow Farm in Indiana, having no idea what was waiting for them. "Paranormal Witness" recounted the legacy of the farm. Serial killer Herb Baumeister lived there, and killed at least thirteen young men before committing suicide on the property in the 1990s.
He buried their bodies around the farm. Authorities removed more than 5,000 bone fragments, but the Graves found more. They reported seeing ghosts and hearing strange knocks, but it was Joe LeBlanc, a man who rented an apartment on the property, who had the most specific encounter.
He claims to have made contact with the ghost of Herb Baumeister, even recording the session. A voice could be heard repeating the phrase, "The married one." LeBlanc had been asking who was walking in the kitchen. As all of Baumeister's victims had been single, he determined this answer must mean the spirit was Baumeister himself.

Herb Baumeister was once again be the subject of a television show. The famous Hamilton County serial killer was featured last night on "Paranormal Witness" on SyFy. The episode is "Fox Hollow Farm" after Baumeister's property.
Baumeister was the Westfield businessman who authorities believe stalked Indianapolis gay bars in the mid-1990s, picked up unsuspecting men and drove them to his property where he allegedly killed and buried them.
He was considered a suspect by police, but fled to Canada as investigators began digging up the backyard. The remains of several men were found on the grounds.

Early life

The oldest of four children, Baumeister's childhood was reportedly normal. By the onset of adolescence, however, he began exhibiting antisocial behavior; acquaintances later recalled the young Baumeister playing with dead animals and urinating on a teacher's desk. As a teenager, he was diagnosed with schizophrenia, but did not receive further psychiatric treatment. As an adult, he drifted through a series of jobs, marked by a strong work ethic, but also by more and increasingly bizarre behavior.

He married in 1971, a union that produced three children.

Investigation
In the early 1990s investigators with the Marion County Sheriff's Department and the Indianapolis Police Department began investigating the disappearances of gay men in the Indianapolis area. In 1993, investigators were contacted by a man claiming that a gay bar patron calling himself "Ron Rosen" had killed a friend of , and had attempted to kill him. The detectives told him to contact them in case he ever saw the man again. In November 1995, he called them and supplied the man's license plate; after checking the license registry, investigators discovered that "Ron Rosen" was actually Herb Baumeister.

Investigators approached Baumeister, told him he was a suspect in the disappearances, and asked to search his house. When Baumeister refused, investigators confronted his wife, Julie, who also forbade police to search the house. By June 1996, however, Julie Baumeister had become sufficiently frightened by her husband's mood swings and erratic behavior that, after filing for divorce, she consented to a search. The search of the 18-acre (73,000 m²) estate named "Fox Hollow Farm" was conducted while Baumeister was on vacation; it turned up the remains of 11 men, only 5 of whom were ever identified.

Baumeister escaped to Ontario, where he committed suicide at Pinery Provincial Park by shooting himself in the head. In his suicide note, he described his failing marriage and business as his reason for killing himself. He did not confess to the murders of the men found in his backyard.

The Haunting

Years passed while the estate and mansion stood empty. It was on the market now, and the incredibly cheap property was sold to Rob and Vicky Graves. The mansion had been gutted after it was vacated, and everything in it was new. The Graves thought everything bad was gone from the mansion. Every thing seemed great in their new home except one day when Vicky experienced an unexplained occurrence. She had attempted to vacuum up gravel from around the lush indoor pool. The gravel had been tracked in by her kids. The vacuum kept coming unplugged at the extension cord without any explainable reason for the unpluggings. Vicky was a bit confused when it happened three times. She sensed she was not alone and that they or what ever it was did not want her there. She shrugged the feeling off.

Rob worked at a car dealership, and his colleague Joe Le Blanc had been facing a terrible daily commute to work which left him often times late for work. Joe needed to move closer to the dealership and naturally Rob offered to let Joe move into the spare apartment on the estate. Joe, unfazed by the history of the house Brought his belongings and his dog Fred and moved into the apartment. He fell asleep once he and Rob were finished moving him in because the move had been an exhausting one. While sleeping he dreamed that he was running for his life. He felt that something bad was chasing him. He awakened in a state of panic and tried to run. He hit the door frame so hard he collapsed onto the floor. He was in terrible pain. Shards of glass were everywhere and they had gotten into his hands. He was unsure what he was running from but he felt the sense he had to get out of there as fast as he could.

Something caught Vickie's eye one day when she came home from work to find Rob painting. He had accomplished a surprising amount of work on his task. She was looking over his work when she noticed it. A man in a red T-Shirt was standing in their yard. As he turned and walked away from her she realized that she couldn't see his legs. Suddenly all of him disappeared. She and Rob walked over to the the area where the man had been only to find nothing. Rob installed security cameras on the premises in hopes of catching him on them if the stranger came back.

One night while Joe was washing dishes in his apparent he heard a knock on the door. The knocking became insistent and when Joe opened the door nothing was there. He looked around and finally went back in and locked the door. He could not shake the feeling of discomfort because he felt he was being watched. Fred, Joe's dog started behaving like he saw something but Joe saw nothing.

Another night Joe was walking Fred when he heard something in the woods. Fred had stopped and his ears were standing straight up like he was listening to something. As they headed back toward the apparent Joe and his dog saw a man in a red T-Shirt. The stranger turned and headed toward the woods and disappeared. Fred gave chase after him anyway though. Of course Joe chased after his dog because he had no way of knowing the intentions of the stranger in the red shirt. While still in chase to find his dog, Joe came face to face with the stranger. Terrified, Joe turned and ran for his life. Fred was chasing close behind as well. Upon Joe telling Rob and Vicky about the incident they realized that they had both seen the same man.

One night Joe was awakened by someone once again knocking on his door. He called out to see who it was but received no answer. He felt the panels in his door and they were vibrating from the knocking. Joe pulled the still vibrating door open only to see no one was there. He noticed the doorknocker was raised as if some unseen hand was ready to knock with it again. when it came down and completed it's knock Joe closed the door. He bolted it shut and felt a bit safer. He went back into his room to find a growling Fred than he heard a sound like the doorknob turning.

The door knob twisted and vibrated violently from whoever was trying to get in. The sound stopped and seconds later the door burst open and wood chips went flying across the apartment. Unnerved but baffled he stepped out of the apartment and when he turned to come back inside he saw a man inside the apparent. The man was screaming and running for his life. He was trying to get away from some unseen person. Joe now suspected his intruder had been one of Baumeister's unfortunate victims. He, along with Rob and Vicky Graves researched what was known about the events on the property. They were viewing some old news footage including pictures of some of Baumeister's victims when Joe spotted a picture of the ghost which was running for his life in the apartment. Rob couldn't help but to worry that Joe might be becoming obsessed with the Baumeister case.

One day Joe was walking through the woods with Fred. Fred took off running and Joe chased after him. When Fred stopped something caught Joe's eye. He dug it out of the leaves and it was a human bone. He took it to Rob and Vicky. She knew instantly that it was human. She thought it was a Femur. He had found it near the same area where they had seen the man in the red shirt.

Rob reported the finding to the lead detective on the case, who agreed to come out and show them where the events had happened. It was believed that Baumeister had strangled his victims near or even in the woods.

Now one of Joe's friends, A man named Jeremy, wanted to come to the house. Jeremy wanted to lay to rest the reports of the house's hauntings. They were in the pool and diving to retrieve dead beetles which had sank to the bottom of the pool. Joe felt someone touch his back. His first thought was that it was one of the boys. He realized they were on the other side of the pool. It couldn't have been them. Joe was pulled under the water as he swam back toward his friends. Invisible, cold fingers gripped his neck and were choking him. Jeremy saw Joe grabbing toward his neck. He had a panicked look like none Jeremy had ever seen before. Joe managed to escape and he hurried out of the pool He was in a state of terror and demanded his friends get out of the pool immediately. He feared it would get one of them as well, and perhaps even succeed in killing them.

Finally, one night Joe was working at his computer. He heard a metallic scraping noise so he investigated. he found a knife laying on the counter and there were cuts in the wood walls. It made him question if someone had been stabbed in the kitchen. He watched a ghost hunter show, and he unplugged everything that could possibly make any noises. He used his cell phone because it had a pretty decent recorder in it. He decided to do an EVP session and see what he caught. He asked if anyone was there and within moments Fred started barking. Joe took the cell to the computer to listen and see if anything was recorded. There as a clear response to his question. The voice said "The married one." All of Baumeister's victims had been single gay men. The only one there who had been single was the Murderer himself. Herbert Baumeister had to be back from his grave and to this day Joe is convinced that He is still around. It is apparent that evil never dies it simply changes form and continues to be a form of evil.

Current residents and visitors to the property have reported unsettling feelings, unexplainable noises, and even seeing apparitions inside the house and round the grounds.A paranormal investigation team, including psychics, a demonologist, EVP and visual specialists, investigated the 18-acre estate over a six-month period

 

 

 

 

The Real box (not hollywood) - The Dybbuk box

A dybbuk box, or dibbuk box, is a wine cabinet which is said to be haunted by a dybbuk. In Jewish folklore, a dybbuk is a restless, usually malicious, spirit believed to be able to haunt and even possess the living. The box achieved recognition after it was auctioned on eBay with an accompanying horror story and is the original inspiration for the 2012 film The Possession

Note that the film Possession is based on a real story to which wasnt made up for a Hollywood horror film, these true events happen to a few people that owned this box.

The term "Dybbuk Box" was first used by Kevin Mannis to describe the box in the item information for an eBay auction to describe it as the subject of an original story (not the story for the film) describing supposedly true events which he considered to be related to the box. Mannis, a writer and creative professional by trade, owned a small antiques and furniture refinishing business in Portland, Oregon at the time. According to Mannis' story, he purportedly bought the box at an estate sale in 2003. It had belonged to a German Holocaust survivor named Havela, who had escaped to Spain and purchased it there before her immigration to the United States. Havela's granddaughter told Mannis that the box had been bought in Spain after the Holocaust. Upon hearing that the box was a family heirloom, Mannis offered to give the box back to the family but the granddaughter insisted that he take it. "We don't want it." She said. She told him the box had been kept in her grandmother's sewing room and was never opened because a dybbuk was said to live inside it.

On opening the box, Mannis found that it contained two 1920s pennies, a lock of blonde hair bound with cord, a lock of black/brown hair bound with cord, a small statue engraved with the Hebrew word "Shalom", a small, golden wine goblet, one dried rose bud, and a single candle holder with four octopus-shaped legs; all items supposedly used in Jewish folklore to exorcise demons.

Numerous owners of the box have reported that strange phenomena accompany it. In his story, Mannis claimed he experienced a series of horrific nightmares shared with other people while they were in possession of the box or when they stayed at his home while he had it. His mother suffered a stroke on the same day he gave her the box as a birthday present — October 28. Every owner of the box has reported that smells of cat urine or jasmine flowers and nightmares involving an old hag accompany the box. Iosif Neitzke, a Missouri student at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri and the last person to auction the box on eBay, claimed that the box caused lights to burn out in his house and his hair to fall out. Jason Haxton, Director of the Museum of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, had been following Neitzke's blogs regarding the box and when he was ready to be rid of the box Neitzke sold it to Haxton. Haxton wrote The Dybbuk Box, and claimed that he subsequently developed strange health problems, including hives, coughing up blood, and "head-to-toe welts". Haxton consulted with Rabbis (Jewish religious leaders) to try to figure out a way to seal the dybbuk in the box again. Apparently successful, he took the freshly resealed box and hid it at a secret location, which he will not reveal.

Skeptic Chris French, head of the Anomalistic Psychology Research Unit at Goldsmiths' College, told an interviewer he believed that the box's owners were "already primed to be looking out for bad stuff. If you believe you have been cursed, then inevitably you explain the bad stuff that happens in terms of what you perceive to be the cause. Put it like this: I would be happy to own this object."

All of the events that I am about to set forth in this listing are accurate and may be verified
by the winning bidder with the copies of hospital records and sworn affidavits that I am including as part of the sale of the cabinet.
During September of 2001, I attended an estate sale in Portland Oregon. The items liquidated at this sale were from the estate of a woman who had passed away at the age of 103. A grand-daughter of the woman told me that her grandmother had been born in Poland where she grew up, married, raised a family, and lived until she was sent to a Nazi concentration camp during World War II. She was the only member of her family who survived the camp. Her parents, brothers, a sister, husband, and two sons and a daughter were all killed. She survived the camp by escaping with some other prisoners and somehow making her way to Spain where she lived until the end of the war. I was told that she acquired the small wine cabinet listed here in Spain and it was one of only three items that she brought with her when she immigrated to the United States. The other two items were a steamer trunk, and a sewing box.
I purchased the wine cabinet, along with the sewing box and some other furniture at the estate sale. After the sale, I was approached by the woman's granddaughter who said, I see you got the dibbuk box. She was referring to the wine cabinet. I asked her what a dibbuk box was, and she told me that when she was growing up, her grandmother always kept the wine cabinet in her sewing room. It was always shut, and set in a place that was out of reach. The grandmother always called it the dibbuk box. When the girl asked her grandmother what was inside, her grandmother spit three times through her fingers said, a dibbuk, and keselim. The grandmother went on to tell the girl that the wine cabinet was never, ever, to be opened.
The granddaughter told me that her grandmother had asked that the box be buried with her. However, as such a request was contrary to the rules of an orthodox Jewish burial, the grandmothers request had not been honored. I asked the granddaughter what a dibbuk, and keselim were, but she did not know. I asked if she would like to open it with me. She did not want to open it, as her grandmother had been very emphatic and serious when she instructed her not to do so, and, regardless of the reason, she wanted to honor her grandmother’s request.
I finally ended up offering to let her keep what seemed to me to be a sentimental keepsake. At that point, she was very insistent and said, No, no you bought it!
I explained that I didn't want my money back, and that it would make me feel better to do what I thought was an act of kindness. She then became somewhat upset. Looking back now, the way she became upset was just plain odd. She raised her voice to me and said, you bought it! You made a deal!
When I tried to speak, she yelled, we don't want it! She began to cry, asked me to leave, and quickly walked away. I wrote the whole episode off to the stress and grief she must have been experiencing. I took my purchases and politely left.
At the time when I bought the cabinet, I owned a small furniture refinishing business. I took the cabinet to my store, and
put it in my basement workshop where I intended to refinish it and give it as a gift to my Mother. I didn't think anything
more about it. I opened my shop for the day and went to run some errands leaving the young woman who did sales for
me in charge.
After about a half-hour, I got a call on my cell phone. The call was from my salesperson. She was absolutely hysterical and screaming that someone was in my workshop breaking glass and swearing. Furthermore, the intruder had locked the iron security gates and the emergency exit and she couldn't get out. As I told her to call the police, my cell phone battery went dead. \ I hit speeds of 100 mph getting back to the shop. When I arrived, I found the gates locked. I went inside and found my employee on the floor in a corner of my office sobbing hysterically. I ran to the basement and went downstairs. At the bottom of the stairs, I was hit by an overpowering unmistakable odor of cat urine (there had never been any animals kept or found in my shop). The lights didn't work. As I investigated, I found that the reason the lights didn't work also explained the sounds of glass breaking. All of the light bulbs in the basement were broken. All nine incandescent bulbs had been broken in their sockets, and 10 four-foot fluorescent tubes were lying shattered on the floor. I did not find an intruder, however. I should also add that there was only one entrance to the basement. It would have been impossible for anyone to leave without meeting me head-on. I went back up to speak with my salesperson, but she had left.
She never returned to work (after having been with me for two years). She refuses to discuss the incident to this day. I never thought of relating the events of that day to anything having to do with the cabinet.
Then, things got worse.
As I already indicated, I had decided to give the cabinet to my Mother as a birthday gift. About two weeks after I made the purchase, I decided to get started refinishing it. I was surprised to find that the cabinet has a unique little mechanism. When you open one of the doors, the mechanism causes the opposite door, and the little drawer below, to open at the same time. It is very well made. Inside the cabinet, I found the following items: 1 1928 U.S. Wheat Penny; 1 1925 US Wheat Penny; One small lock of blonde hair (bound with string); One small lock of black/brown hair (bound with string); One small granite statue engraved and gilded with Hebrew letters (I have been told that the letters spell out the word SHALOM); One dried rosebud; One golden wine cup; One very strange black cast iron candlestick holder with octopus legs.
I saved all of the items in a box intending to return them to the estate. The family has refused the items, so they will be included in this sale of the cabinet.
After opening the cabinet, I decided not to refinish it. I cleaned it, and rubbed in some lemon oil. It was at this time that I noticed that there was an inscription in Hebrew carved into the back of the cabinet. I have no idea what it says or if it is significant. I have included a picture of that inscription below. On my mother’s birthday, October 28, 2001, my mother called to tell me that she was going out of town with my sister for three days, and we postponed celebrating her birthday together until she returned. On October 31, 2001, my mother came to my shop. We were going to have lunch together, but before we were going to leave, I gave her the wine cabinet. She seemed to like it. While she examined it, I went to make a phone call. I hadn't been out of sight more than 5 minutes when one of my employees came running into my office saying that something was wrong with my mom.
When I went back to see what the matter was, I found my mom sitting in a chair beside the cabinet. Her face had no expression, but tears were streaming down her cheeks. No matter how I tried to get her to respond, she would not. She could not. It turns out that my mother had suffered a stroke. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance. She ended up suffering partial paralysis, and losing her ability to speak and form words (she has since regained the ability to speak). She could understand things being said to her, and could respond by pointing to letters of the alphabet to spell out words she wanted to say. When I asked her the following day how she was doing, she teared up and spelled out the words: N-O G-I- F-T. I assured her that I had given her a gift for her birthday, thinking that she didn’t remember, but she became even more upset and spelled out the words: H-A-T-E G-I-F-T. I laughed and told her not to worry. I told her I was sorry she didn’t like the cabinet, and that I would get her anything she wanted if she would promise to get well soon.
Still, I didn't associate anything that had happened with the cabinet itself or anything paranormal. Frankly, I don’t think I ever even used the term paranormal until this last month.
I'll try to make this short now. I gave the cabinet to my sister. She kept it for a week, then gave it back. She complained that she couldn't get the doors to stay closed and that they kept coming open. There are no springs in the door mechanism and I have never found that the doors come open. I gave it to my brother and his wife who kept it for three days and then gave it back. My brother said it smelled like Jasmine flowers, while his wife insisted that it put out an odor of cat urine. I gave it to my girlfriend who asked me to sell it for her after only two days. I sold it the same day to a nice middle aged couple. Three days later, when I came to open the shop for the day, I found the cabinet sitting at the front doors with a note that read, This has a bad darkness. I had no idea what that meant. Anyway, I ended up taking it home.
Then, things got even worse.
Since the day I brought it home, I began having a strange recurring nightmare. Every time I have the horrible dream it goes something like this: I find myself walking with a friend, usually someone I know well and trust at some point in the dream, I find myself looking into the eyes of the person that I am with. It is then that I realize that there is something different, something evil looking back at me. At that point in my dream, the person I am with changes into what can only be described as the most gruesome, demonic looking Hag that I have ever seen. This Hag proceeds then, to beat the living tar out of me. I have awakened numerous times to find bruises and marks on myself where I had been hit by the old woman during the previous night. Still, I never related the nightmares to the cabinet, nor do I think that I ever would have.
About a month ago, however, my sister, and my brother and his wife came over to my house and spent the night. The following morning, during breakfast, my sister complained that she had had a horrible nightmare. She said that she recalled having had it a couple of times before, and went on to describe my nightmare exactly to the last detail. My brother and his wife froze as they listened, and then chimed in that they had both had had the exact same dreams during the night as well. The hair was standing up on the back of my neck and still is. As we talked, it became clear that the common denominator was that each of us had had the nightmare during the times that the cabinet was in our respective homes. I called my girlfriend and asked if she could recall having any nightmares recently. She described the same nightmare, same Hag, everything. When I asked her if she remembered the date when she had the nightmare, she said she did not. Then I
asked if it happened to be the night before she gave me the cabinet back to sell for her. She said, Yeah! Hey, how did
you know that?!!!
Now then, since my family discussion, it seems like all hell is breaking loose. For a week afterward I started seeing what I can only describe as shadow things in my peripheral vision. In fact, numerous visitors to my house have claimed that they have seen these shadow things. I put the cabinet in an outside storage unit and was awakened when the smoke alarm in the unit went off in the middle of the night. When I went to see what was burning, I opened the door and didn’t see any smoke. However, I did get hit with the smell of cat urine. When I went back inside, the smell was there in my house. I DO NOT OWN A CAT AND I NEVER HAVE. I went back outside and grabbed the cabinet. I brought it back inside and tried to research it on the Internet. While I was surfing the net, I fell asleep and once again had the same freakin nightmare. I woke up at around 4:30am (when it felt and smelled like someone was breathing on my neck) to find that my house now smelled like Jasmine flowers, and just in time to see a HUGE shadow thing go loping down the hall away from me.
I would destroy this thing in a second, except I really don’t have any understanding of what I may or may not be dealing with. I am afraid (and I do mean afraid) that if I destroy the cabinet, whatever it is that seems to have come with the cabinet may just stay here with me. I have been told that there are people who shop on EBAY that understand these kinds of things and specifically look for these kinds of items. If you are one of these people, please, please buy this cabinet and do whatever you do with a thing like this.
